BRITA LOU MELOM

Birth & Postpartum Doula

Twin Cities, MN

About Me

I’m a Doula, lifelong learner, and mom to three little ones — a four-year-old and two-year-old twins. Becoming a parent profoundly shaped the way I move through the world and deepened my belief in the power of community care, connection, and being truly seen during life’s biggest transitions.

After experiencing two very different pregnancies and births myself, I felt called to support other birthing people on their own unique paths. In 2025, I completed a DONA-approved Birth Doula training here in Minneapolis, where I now support families with presence, compassion, and respect for their autonomy and intuition.

Before having kids, I lived all over the country and worked in small business management, primarily within the restaurant and hospitality industries. That background continues to inform my doula work — I know how to stay calm under pressure, read the room, and show up with steady, thoughtful care. I’m also deeply passionate about food, nutrition, bodywork, mental health, and the ways all of these intersect during pregnancy, birth, and postpartum.

I feel confident in my ability to meet birthing people exactly where they are, without judgment or agenda. I see my role as a supportive guide — someone who listens deeply, adapts in the moment, and honors each family’s experience as their own. I’m currently working toward my postpartum doula certification, along with several perinatal bodywork certifications, as I continue to grow and expand my offerings.
